What I’m going to tell you about next it’s the service all gamers who don’t like to upgrade and be concerned about the performance of their PC dream of. It’s called Gaikai and is a web service that runs the game for you on their own hardware and then it streams it to a device of your choice, in this case an iPad, which is pictured below running the WoW login screen. Don’t be fooled into thinking the iPad is capable of running the WoW, a game launched a few year ago that still has millions of fans around the globe, as it’s just a demo of the Gaikai capabilities.

Personally I don’t agree with this kind of service, as I am a heavy gamer, but if I travel I can’t carry the huge desktop case and all its accessories with me and could use a service like Gaikai for occasional gaming sessions. I’m curious if they have the hardware to sustain a large number of users, as virtualization is not the answer here, but multicore CPUs and SLI/Crossfire VGA card setups. Tell me what you think about streaming gaming (that’s how I would call it).
