Touch tablets are in essence, let’s face it, laptops with a swivel screen (I’m not including here touch screen tablets without a hardware keyboard). In this case the reliability problem of a touch tablet also applies to laptops and vice versa. If you’re interested about global statistic, about what manufacturer is more reliable I’ve found a chart on Internet that show which laptops and touch tablets are more prone to fail.
The chart was made after carefully analysis of more than 30.000 different laptops across a three year period. What this graph doesn’t show is that netbooks are less reliable than entry level notebooks, which are also less reliable than premium and more expensive laptops, but this isn’t necessarily something you wouldn’t expect for a low price product.
What strikes me is that some manufacturers (HP, Lenovo, Acer, Gateway) are prone to fail almost 1 in 4 items, which seems a lot to me, considering how far manufacturing processes have come in past years, but some people never learn, do they?
