We’ve mentioned two or three times the WeTab 11.6 inch tablet from Neofonie, a slate powered by an Atom N450 CPU running at 1.66 GHz, with a HD ready screen and Windows 7. Well, things have changed, as Neofonie presented at IFA Berlin 2010 the tablet running the MeeGo OS from Intel/Nokia joint venture and let me tell you that that thing moved really fast, as you would expect from a Linux Operating System, known for its ‘kindness’ on resource consumption.

    Of course there are still a few tweaks to be done here and there, as not all apps are running fast (see the webcam in the video below), or some are not optimized for touch input (email client comes first to my mind), but Neofonie says they’re gonna be ready to launch WeTab sometime late in September. Hope they have at least more info then about availability and price. Here’s the preview of MeegGo running on WeTab:
