Viliv S10 Blade is an old acquaintance of ours, one that we like and it seems things are on the right path, as it just surfaced on Dynamism’s website for a price starting at 699$. Of course there will be more expensive models, just like Apple iPad, but the base specs are pretty good: Atom Z530 CPU at 1.6 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 60 GB HDD, 10.1 inch resistive 3-point multi touch screen (720p resolution), WiFi, Bluetooth, webcam and a very big 43 Wh battery pack that will get you up to 10 hours of autonomy, all in a 2.67 lbs package.
Moving up the ladder we get the option for a Z550 CPU at 2GHz, 64 GB SSD drive, HSPA modem and Windows 7 Home Premium (unlike the cheaper version which ships with Windows XP, thus no multitouch). I really love the design of Viliv S10 Blade as it has simple lines, slim profile (compared to other convertible tablets) and packs a lot of power for today’s usual netbook user. I really hope the high end version doesn’t go over the 800$ mark as I would really love to get one of those ‘beasts’.
