Touch screen tablet - Touchscreens that power from the sun could be a few years away

Some believe the future of increasing battery life lies in new technologies for storing power, others like University of Pennsylvania researchers believe in circuits that power themselves from the sun. They already built working prototypes of touchscreens that collect power from the sun, but it’s still small amounts, not enough to power completely autonomous circuits but they’re getting there in small steps.

Of course, not only touchscreens circuits are suitable for this new technology, as we might see in future semitransparent casing for many gadgets so that sun rays could penetrate down towards the actual circuit. It technology evolves the future might mean bye bye to internal batteries for small portable gadgets that doesn’t require too much power while operating.
