We’ve told you about Toshiba’s SmartPad tablet rumored a while ago, but this bit of news might come as a surprise, as we’ve got word on the Toshiba Folio 100 Android tablet which is set to be released pretty soon, maybe this year. At its core, the Folio 100 is a 10 inch tablet with 1024 x 600 pixels display and Android 2.2 OS. The heavy piece is the Tegra 250 dual core CPU from the Tegra 2 chipset which will speed up things a bit and will over complete Flash 10.1 compatibility along with Full HD playback.
You’ll be able to store your clips on the 16 GB of internal storage and output that info on an external display through the HDMI port supplied by Toshiba. The Folio 100 is plenty reach on ports with full size USB, mini USB, HDMI, SD card slot and mic input, jack output. Other stuff includes WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth, webcam. Battery life is estimated at 7 hours of a browsing/media playback mix via 1020 mAh power plant (no voltage info for now, so we don’t know the total amount of Wh).

The Toshiba Folio 100 is expected to make its appearance during IFA Berlin next week, when we hope to get word on pricing and availability of both the tablet and its accessories, that for now include only a docking station with its own HDMI port.
