When the fall of classic media has begun a few years ago, everyone thought that bringing newspapers in the digital age, on a color display, might save them. The iPad launch gave new hope to dying traditional media, but I don’t think this will save them at all. People really like holding a piece of paper in hand, not a 3 pounds touch tablet (if you’re lucky to have a smaller one), but the problem lies in the content and the way it’s being delivered (slow).

Two designers have already solved the problem, with a concept that is called The Page. I say ‘almost’ because The Page is just a concept of a folding digital paper that aligns the content/or expands it to the available size. Natural gestures like scrolling will move the info displayed and so on. It’s like having a newspaper where you can interact with the info displayed, you can update it over the air and read it the way you like. Too bad The Page is just a concept, but as technology advances we might see it in the future (or buy it).

This is how you can read The Page
