People joke already on Internet that the Apple table, an unconfirmed touch tablet, was already been delayed for an apparent upgrade to its OLED screen. Rumors say the 9.7 inch tablet version will use an LG OLED screen while the 10.6, a ‘normal’ version. It seems plausible to me that Apple would want to use top notch technology, such as OLED, but it is unlikely they’ll sell two versions with very similar sizes.
The OLED screen is supposed to cost around 500$, almost a third of the 1500-1700$ cost of the tablet, while the ‘regular’ version will hover somewhere around 800-1000$. The second part seems probable, but I don’t think Apple has any chance of selling what essentially is a crippled computer for over 1500$.

Another Apple tablet rendering
As prices for OLED screens are believed to fall rapidly maybe Apple is planning on further delay the iTablet (or iPad) another year or so, maybe deep in 2011, but I think this is already a wild guess. We’ll just have to wait and see.
