I’m sure I haven’t mentioned Swype before, so here what it’s all about: a virtual keyboard where you type by swiping your fingers between the letters you want to write. Once you lift off your finger a SPACE is inserted and then you go on again and again writing the other words. For now Swype is only available for smartphones, but people are saying it’s good enough to replace any type of virtual keyboard out there.
It’s that good that it showed up at the Microsoft Partner Conference (go to minute 2:58:30 here to see it in action). It’s pretty impressive, if you ask me, which makes me wonder if we will ever see it bundled officially by Microsoft, who might buy these guys (it always does that with small innovative companies). If you ever played with Swype keyboard let me know how it feels like by leaving a comment below.

Swype on a Windows 7 Multi touch screen

Microsoft is a big company, one of the biggest actually in the IT world, and is no wonder they're trying...
Swype is awesome. I’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S Epic 4G on the Sprint Network and love using it. It is more reliable then most keyboard programs ive ever seen. I just bought an ASUS T91 thought and would love to have swype on Windows 7. Know where I can get it?
i have swype on my wm5 touchscreen mobile phone and love it. it is my fave input method of the 20+ types i’ve tried e.g. transcriber, apple’s touch type, t9, tengo, etc
I have used Swype on Android and it is an awesome app. I would love to see it available on my all in one computer.
Take my word for it, this type of typing utility will be an absolute necessity for the “between smartphone and full-sized keyboard” size of the tablet keyboard.
I am pecking away letter by letter on my win 7 tablet, when swyping on my android keyboard is way faster. It is PAINFULL for me!
By the way, I am a touch-typist, type 80 words per minute. My notebook will be around until I can speed up my typing on my tablet; otherwise it’s a dumb browser.
Although I’ve heard people complaining, I got it along with my galaxy player 4, and so far my multiple attempts at using a normal keyboard have failed – I keep on coming back to swype. It might not be everyone’s thing, but I could not live without it.
You are right. I for instance I’m unable to use swype, no matter how long I try…
