The fact that Samsung is working on its own touch tablet is nothing new, as we’ve covered the subject a few times here. We now almost know the name of the Samsung tablet, S-Pad, and the official launch date sometime in August. We also know that the S-Pad will be a 7 inch tablet with a Super AMOLED screen which will surely look gorgeous, if you can afford it, as those kind of screens are very expensive.
The Samsung S-Pad will be powered by the Android OS and will feature things we’re accustomed to, like 3G, WiFi and a proprietary Samsung AppStore (we kind of hate here proprietary platforms). No word on pricing but as we’ve told you, the Super AMOLED screen, if turns not to be a rumor will make the price skyrocket, but will rival the iPad’s screen quality, as experts say. We’ll let you know once we find out more.
