One of the most anticipated iPad 2 challengers in 2011 is the Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1, another 10.1 inch tablet powered by the Tegra 2 CPU, which was first introduced at CES 2011, in January, but still is nowhere to be found in stores. And Samsung can’t even blame everything on Google, as Android 3.0 Honeycomb was released officially a few weeks ago. It’s still impossible for me to understand why it takes so long for others to bring their tablets to market, while Apple manages to strike record after record with its iPad and iPad 2 tablets.

Anyway, the guys at AndroidHD managed to get their hands on a Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1 sample and shot a 12 minutes long hands on (with an artistic touch) that highlights all of the things you’ll be doing with it. Of course this video focuses on the Honeycomb interface more, but still, it shows that future Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1 users will enjoy a smooth experience, comparable to the one on the first iPad. Sure it won’t be as fast as iPad 2, but maybe it can be an alternative to those seeking more flexibility. That’s if the price is right, of course, as a disastrous pricing scheme on the Motorola Xoom pretty much ruined everything.

I know it’s a tight fight with the iPad 2 these days, with not many strong points for competing tablets, but there’s always that crowd of people who don’t like Apple for its closed operating system and strong limitations. If I were Samsung, Motorola, LG or a company planning a tablet I would focus on the things the iPad 2 won’t ever be able to do, not on performance, price and battery life, as you can’t win those chapters right now, not when the iPad 2 is that good.

But that’s just me, so let’s not make this post unnecessarily long and take a look at that Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1 video preview:
