Usually when I don’t feel like writing too much I do a kind of quick news roundup, where I sum up in a few words the worthy news that surfaced in past days or hours. Today is one such day, so here are the bits of news about tablet PCs that might interest you:

    HP Slate comes in October

After no HP Slate, then HP WebOS tablet now it’s time again for HP Slate, with WebOS, which is due to appear in October 2010. HP also says it plans no WebOS Netbooks, at least for now anyway. Of course any other comments on specs and pricing are off, but we’re looking for clues, so check back from time to time.

Acer 1825PT and 1825 PTZ are now available in some countries

We’ve talked about one of the two most promising convertible tablets announced this year: Acer 1825PT and PTZ, which now are available in some European countries for sale. They’re the best combination of portability and performance, thanks to the 11.6 inch form factor and Intel ULV CPUs. Retail prices recommended by Acer are £599.99 Inc Vat (AS1825PTZ) and £699.99 inc Vat (AS1825PT). I’m really looking forward towards those two tablets and so should you.

    iPad sells better than MacBooks

The one thing Apple doesn’t want to see is happening right now: the iPad is cannibalizing sales of its MacBooks and iPods. This is a case when too much success is not wanted. I say that because Apple has a bigger margin by selling off a MacBook Pro than when it sells you an iPad, iPod or iPhone. We’ll see how this thing goes after the next financial report from Apple.
