Another week has passed and it’s time to do the quick news again and see what happened in the growing world of touch tablets and was not covered by us. CeBIT happened this week, during 2nd and 6th (actually it is ending tomorrow) and a lot of new products were released there, but surprisingly not every major manufacturer that had tablet samples at CES (January 2010) made a followup to bring a product closer to launch.
It seems to me that everyone is waiting for the iPad to launch and see then the potential of this highly praised niche.
- iPad will launch on April 3rd with pre-orders beginning as of March 12th for the non 3G US version. Later in April the 3G iPad will begin shipping in US and Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
- an interesting interview with the ASUS CEO talking about tablets, smartbooks, Windows 7 phone series, Google Chrome and too many ASUS models with confusing names for consumers
- Skytone Alpha: the first convertible tablet with Android looks promising but there’s a lot of work to be done to get it right. Will retail for 200-250$ which is nice
- Hivision SpeedPad proves that tablet prices can go as low as 100$. Would get one for sure if it came to my country
- least, but not last I’ve launched the first edition of The Ultimate Touch Tablet Guide FREE eBook which you get with every email subscription to AllTouchTablet.com. You’ll find a lot of interesting facts about touch tablets out there if you’re not already familiarized with them but also an interesting collage of top models available on market. I’ll update the eBook every month so please don’t forget to suggest me ways to improve on it
