The ink hasn’t ever dried on the Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chipset family announcement and tablet prototypes running it had already hit the web. Quanta, one of the biggest OEM manufacturers in the world, presented at its booth at CES a working prototype of a slate tablet running Android OS on a Tegra 2 chipset. Being a prototype means beta software so some things didn’t run as smoothly as you might have expected, notable being the touch screen which seemed to miss a few touches once in a while and a wobbly screen that rippled when being pressed from behind.

But any product has its ups and downs, especially when still in Beta. Quanta’s tablet was notable for its battery life: 140 hours of music playback with the screen turned off and Full HD 1080p playback for up to 10 hours means you can watch movies on big screens via a HDMI output for longer without needing to recharge. As Quanta just showcased this prototype expect to see it in popular brands offers soon in a similar shape, but with a better overall finish.
