AllTouchTablet is looking for Editors

When I first started the All Touch Tablet project I hadn't imagined it would grow so fast  in just 15 months, but it did and I'm glad for that. I'm glad for all the products I've reviewed, all the comments posted approving or disapproving what I had wrote and all the encouragements received throughout this period. But now I came to realize that his happy moment won't last for long without a development strategy, so I'm seeking help to expand All Touch Tablet. What kind of help? I've reali...

Android takes 22% of tablet market in Q4 2010

2010 was definitely dominated by the iPad when speaking of the tablet market. You might think that Android tablets were nowhere to be seen, but you would be wrong, as the last quarter of the year saw a significant increase in market share for the few Android tablets present on market at that point, Samsung Galaxy TAB being the most notable of them. Apparently iPad's market share has decreased from 95% to 75% in just three months. This makes the Android tablet share equal cu 22% of all sales r...

LG G-Slate shows up in user video, confirming 3D capabilities

I've mentioned once the upcoming LG tablet, codenamed (but not confirmed) G-slate. It's a mystery device till now, developed in secret by LG together with T-Mobile, as they plan on launching it with their 3G and 4G network. Even if no official specs were released we know about the most important function of the tablet: 3D display with dual rear-facing cameras for 3D recording, all without the need of those expensive, geeky looking 3D glasses.Apparently this functionality is now confirmed tha...

Surprise: Dell Streak 7 to sell for 200$ with contract, 450$ without one

If you remember, Dell is one of the few manufacturers who managed to bring a tablet in 2010, in their case the Dell Streak 5, an awkward 5 inch tablet which gained little momentum. They're now ready for the second generation, called Dell Streak 7, which is obvious a 7 inch tablet with similar specs as the first one, but with one important change: the Tegra 2 chipset that promises significant performance gains.Given the fact that Dell wants its second generation tablet to exit the factory as ...

TENQ P07: a 10 inch tablet powered by Ubuntu

One of the things you don't see too often, or at all, are tablets powered by Ubuntu. That doesn't mean they don't exist, as I've just discovered today, when browsing through my unread RSS feeds. The TENQ P07 doesn't say much about what this Ubuntu powered tablet is all about. It's even misleading, as it's a 10 inch tablet, not a 7 inch model as the model name might suggest. Being an x86 OS, the CPU behind the tablet is an Atom CPU at 1.66 GHz.If it was powered by Windows I might have said a...

MSI WindPad 100W Windows tablet shows up for sale

One of the few Windows 7 tablets on sale today is the MSI WindPad 100W. It's a 10 inch slate with mediocre specs, but it may prove to be exactly the think some consumers want, and I'm thinking here about those people that are now willing to change the desktop apps they're running on their computers. I guess MSI WindPad 100W is the tablet for those seeking compatibility. The tablet was introduced a while ago and it seems that right now MSI has managed to bring it to market. We've found it here...

Archos 9 tablet gets an SSD upgrade

Archos is clearly one of the brand names that manages to offer affordable tablets, with a lot of products priced in the 200-400 $ range, thus cheaper than the iPad and any other competing products. Of course Archos tablets are not the best you can get for the money, but you do get considerably better products than those no name Android tablets. One of the older models, the Archos 9, a 9 inch tablet as the name suggests, recently got a small upgrade in terms of performance: a 32 GB SSD drive....

Possible logo for Android 3.0 Honeycomb discovered

One of the most anticipated pieces of software in 2011, from tablets point of view, is the Android operating system, version 3.0 codenamed Honeycomb. We had a lot of talk about it here at All Touch Tablet.com, but we still don't know the complete specs and released date. Google kept it pretty secret and released only bits of info, teasers and screenshots, but nothing too serious.I don't imply that this article will shed more light on this matter, but I did found out about someone digging int...

Gigabyte S1080 shows up in hands on preview

I'm sure you remember the Gigabyte S1080 slate tablet presented at CES 2011. Of course I'm joking, as there's not much to be proud of in this case, so less to remember. It's a typical 10 inch slate powered by an Atom CPU and Windows 7 OS. Screen resolution is appalling (1024 x 600 pixels), but it might help by making the User Interface controls a little big bigger, and that's always a good thing when it comes to Windows 7.To be fair, there are two things to like about Gigabyte S1080: the d...

More details on the HTC Flyer tablet, including the HTC Sensation UI

I hate to write about rumors all day, with no concrete info about what's going to happen, but someone has to do it. So here are a few more supposedly leaked specs of the upcoming HTC Flyer, the 7 inch tablet meant to compete with the Samsung's own 7 inch device (here is our first news about it). Don't worry, HTC hasn't forget about the iPad, as it will launch several models, variations of the Flyer, including a 10 inch version. What I don't like about those rumors is that the OS version is sti...
