There's been a lot of talk here at All Touch Tablet about the upcoming Sony S1 and Sony S2 tablets, but no real info was released, that is until now, when some updated rumours have surfaced the web. It's nothing confirmed right now, but the official announcement is expected to take place at IFA Berlin show, which takes place on September 2-7.First let's take the Sony S1 tablet, a 9.4 inch screen slate (not your typical 10.1 or 9.7 inches diagonal) with a custom design case inspired by an ope...
The ASUS EEE Slate EP121 is an old acquaintance of ours, being the first truly powerful 12 inch tablet running a full version of Windows 7 OS. It was announced in January 2011 at CES, together with other ASUS tablets and it managed to be the first one to launch in retail actually for anover $1000 price (depends on where you're getting it).Pricing didn't made it any favours, but for those few who wanted Windows on a slate it made their day. Now the tablet gets a little bit better, with the ...
Google is on a big crusade started a few weeks ago, when it first changed the top user bar that's seen across all Google services. The latest layout change comes to Google Search, company's most popular product that's now optimized for touch tablets. The first compatibility list includes iOS (iPad and iPad 2) and all Android 3.1+ devices. If you're the proud owner of one such device and don't see the new layout don't worry, as Google announced it's rolling the update gradually over the next d...
After talking so many times about Dell's 10 inch Streak tablet it's nice to finally 'meet' the tablet officially called Dell Streak 10 Pro. As rumored, it launched first in China, a growing market when Dell's presence is getting bigger too. This move might surprise you, but you shouldn't be, as there's good reason for it: the tablet competition is lower in China, and the iPad 2, Streak 10 Pro's main rival, is way more expensive there. I'm sure Dell intends to offer the Streak 10 Pro in other ...
Acer Iconia A100 was announced officially for the first time by Acer in February, but didn't make it to market in time, in May, as it was supposed to. Part of the problem is attributed to the Honeycomb OS, not playing nice with the 7 inch screen of the Iconia A100, because of the 1024 x 600 pixels resolution, lower than the one on 10 inch Honeycomb tablet, so apps didn't render correctly.Acer has waited for Honeycomb 3.2, which among other features brings support for lower resolution tablets...
One of the tablets I've been wanting to see for a long time, but ASUS kept postponing it, is the EEE Pad Slider, the only Android tablet with a slide-out hardware keyboard. Now it seems the official retail launch moment is getting closer and closer, as I've come upon the following video preview posted at the end of this article. The EEE Pad Slider comes in a black pouch with the EEE logo embossed on it and manages to stay pretty slim considering it has a hardware QWERTY keyboard under the sc...
Dell Streak 10 is the logical successor to the Streak 5 and 7 tablets launched by Dell last year and early in 2011. It's a typical 10 inch tablet with the dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 platform @1GHz, with 1 GB RAM, dual cameras, GPS and a 10.1 inch display bearing the same 1280 x 800 pixels resolution as all 10 inch Honeycomb tablets on market today. As we've speculated before, Dell will launch the Streak 10 tablet first in China, a market where the company has an active presence, which means we ...
Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1 is one of the best tablets in 2011, even competing successfully with the iPad 2 in terms of screen quality, as highlighted in this review. That doesn't mean it's a best seller like Apple's tablet. There are many reasons for that, including the Honeycomb operating system, lack of apps and no 4G LTE version for those who want to use their tablet on the road.Starting today the last problem is solved, as the 4G LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1 just appeared on V...
Even if we're still far away from the launch of the iPad 3, as I expect the announcement to take place next year in Q1, we already have a bunch of rumors about Apple's third generation tablet. Most of those rumors are related to the screen, which remained unchanged from the 1st gen, so it's pretty clear Apple will work on it, make it better, even bring that Retina display joy from the iPhone 4 to iPad users (rumoured resolution is 2048 x 1536).And to see how much people love the iPad, he...
Unlike past years Android strategy to name each version with a different codename (ex: 2.1 Eclair, 2.2 Froyo...) the Honeycomb started as Android 3.0 and stretched to 3.1 and 3.2 maintaining the same project code, so it's hard to distinguish each version, especially since there aren't many differences to talk about. In this short post I'm going to talk a little bit about the improvements Android Honeycomb 3.2 features which you should expect from the new update. And you don't have to grab som...
