Welcome to AllTouchTablet Forums!

In the past weeks I've received lots of comments and answered more comments from people wanting to know more about tablets. This is how I got the idea to install a forum on AllTouchTablet. YPEQWYDURAUUStarting with today the Forums are live. I've only managed to add a few topics for further discussions based on current tablets, so I'm counting on you to fill the forum with your questions and, hopefully, answers. Feel free to suggest new topics. I'll be assigning them to the proper category ...

Google Docs for Android updated with better tablet support

One of the best Google services I use every day is Google Docs. I have to say it's my third favorite after Search and Gmail. It allows my to create and sync my ideas and articles in the cloud and it's even useful as a collaboration tool. The only problem is Google doesn't have optimized versions for all mobile devices out there. And this is true for other Google services, not just the Office alternative. There's the Android smartphone version, but it's pretty limited when it come to editing. ...

Boogie Board RIP is the $130 tablet for taking notes. Period

I don't know if you remember the Boogie Board, a kind of Etch-a-sketch type of tablet with a [easyazon-link asin="B002ZE4TDI"]sub $30 price on Amazon[/easyazon-link]. If you need something for writing notes and nothing more this is the one to get as it cheap, lightweight and allows for a natural note taking experience. The only downside of the original Boogie Board tablet is that you can't save what you're drawing/writing. That's a major let down, but the new Boogie Board RIP LCD Writing Tab...

Amazon Kindle Fire gets pre-ordered 2000 times per hour

It was to be expected that a brand name cheap tablet like the Amazon Kindle Fire would cause such a stir, but how well does the 7 inch tablet do 6 weeks before the official retail debut?A recent leak from an inventory management system shows that 250.000 Kindle Fires have been pre-ordered up until now. This amounts to 2000 new units sold each hour and could add up to 2.5 millions until November 15th, if the current rate of pre-order is maintained. This makes Kindle's tablet fastest sellin...

ASUS EEE Pad Transformer 2 on track for release, but no price cuts

One of the tablet we've been waiting to hear about is the EEE Pad Transformer 2, a model that's supposed to implement the quad-core Tegra 2 Kal-El processor, a new power plant which will set new heights in terms of performance. While we have no official confirmation about the specs, recently the CEO of ASUS, Jerry Shen, said the second generation Transformer is on track for 2011 release with a starting price of $499. The Taiwanese company apparently has no plans to compete with the Kindle F...

HTC Flyer goes the $299 route to gain more traction

It's interesting how tablet manufacturers are now realizing pricing was a huge issues with their products in the war against the iPad and iPad 2 tablets from Apple. People don't want to pay the same price for an inferior product. There may be better tablets out there if you look at the hardware, but the whole package, including software has no chance against Apple at the same price point.RIM dropped the price on its Blackberry Playbook tablet last week by $200 and now it's time for HTC to fo...

Kobo Vox 7 inch tablet eReader leaked in Canada

The 7 inch tablet arena is heating up pretty fast, as a new leak in Futureshop online store in Canada has revealed for a short time the new Kobo 7 inch Android tablet/eReader. You might remember Kobo with the eReader Touch, a competitor on paper for the Barnes and Noble Nook Simple Touch Reader and recently the announced Amazon Kindle Touch. Now Kobo is expected to announce officially the Vox, a 7 inch tablet eReader/tablet meant to compete directly with Amazon Kindle Fire and Nook Color. Act...

Amazon prepares 10 inch Kindle Fire tablet. Could buy WebOS from HP

After launching the amazing 7 inch Kindle Fire tablet at an unbelievable price point of just $199 it seems Amazon is rushing again to prepare a larger 10 inch Kindle Fire, one that apparently the company is more proud of.Reports point towards Foxconn as the one manufacturing it. That's a change as for the 7 inch Kindle Fire Amazon worked with Quanta, and for two reasons: Foxconn was busy building iPad 2s and second, Quanta already made the BlackberryPlaybook for RIM, a hardware design it got...

Samsung Galaxy TAB 7 Plus: a new 7 inch tablet

One of the few outsiders that managed to grab a percentage of the tablet market last year was the Samsung Galaxy TAB 7, a 7 inch tablet that buyers seemed to like a lot, especially since it offered a smaller form factor than the best-selling iPad. Now it's outdated as specs are concerned, and everything Samsung announced this year is better looking, but unfortunately doesn't cover the same form factor. That is until today, when Samsung announced the Galaxy TAB 7 Plus, an updated version of ...

It’s bad: RIM explains which Android apps will run on the Playbook

One of the promised features of RIM's Blackberry Playbook tablet was the ability to run Android apps through the Android Player, a software emulator that would bring tons of apps to the appalling Blackberry World app store. The lack of apps is the main thing that prevented the 7 inch tablet from selling like hotcakes. Unfortunately more info become available about what to expect form this compatibility mode and it seems like users won't have too many reasons to be excited. Lets' see why:...
