Nokia is one of the few big names that didn’t announced anything official yet about their plans concerning tablets. That doesn’t mean they’re not ‘cooking’ something, as Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia’s chief of Mobile Solutions, might just have admitted the Finnish company is working on a touch tablet powered by MeeGo Tablet Edition OS, during an interview with Wall Street Journal.

His exact words were: “Due to the spread of cloud computing and new advances in electronics and network technology, mobile devices will increasingly move beyond smartphones to include other computer-like gadgets such as tablets, and the MeeGo platform will be an important asset for Nokia.

If I were Nokia, I would have offered a MeeGo version for the Nokia N900, which would have gave time to developers to build apps for the new OS, to prevent what happened when Maemo launched with the aforementioned gadget. Anyway, it would be interesting to see what Nokia could come up with, as their Booklet 3G Netbook was really an interesting product.
