Many say that touchscreens are the future, while ‘regular’ computer controlling peripherals are the past. I happen to disagree, but that doesn’t means that I’m right just because I believe waving your hands in the air touching a display all day long is too much for my muscles.

Apple thinks somewhere in between as it just launched world’s first multi-touch mouse, the Magic Mouse, with no buttons and a top sensitive area which will track your finger movements.

The idea seems so ingenious. Why didn’t anyone thought of it yet? Well, I believe the Magic Mouse is not that easy to control while keeping it still as you don’t want the cursor to move on the screen, selection other active window while your scroll, zoom etc with your fingers. I’ve used both touchscreens and regular screens on mobile phones and even computers and I always got back to basics (buttons and no touch that is). It’s because of speed and my symbiotic use of buttons as main means of control.

That doesn’t mean the Magic Mouse is not a good product, but there will be many generations to come till we’ll get a perfect working product, as also software has to comply with trends.

CNET has a short video review of the Apple Magic Mouse. Check it out below:
