I’ve told you a few times about MSI’s plans to launch a tablet during Computex. Well, Engadget just told us about MSI official announcement of the MSI Wind Pad 100, a 10 inch tablet powered by Windows 7 and an Intel CPU (Atom in this case). It’s clear for me that MSI targets the iPad with a slate design, 800 grams body and customized MSI Wind Touch UI enhanced interface on top of Windows 7.
The news is still developing, so till the end of the day more info could come up, but for now we know that MSI Wind Pad 100 will feature a WebCAM and microphone, docking connector (so Tablet PC productivity will be possible) and custom hot-keys for easy access to important functions and programs. Also unlike the iPad, MSI Wind Pad 100 has USB ports, HDMI output, plus the common WiFi and 3G interface.

Now it all depends on things like price (499$ is speculated right now), battery life and performance (I really hope for a dual core Atom or a low frequency ULV CPU, but I bet I’m going to get the Pinetrail single core. Update: It’a an Intel Atom Z530 CPU).
