There’s a lot of talking around the Pixel QI technology first presented on Notion Ink Adam prototype and I’m glad there’s interest in it. Wouldn’t you like a touch tablet with a eInk type screen that lasts a few dozen hours in reading mode and more than 10 (16 to be precise) in normal use mode, oh, and it’s Full HD capable thanks to the Tegra 2 chipset.

It seems now that even more info about Pixel QI showed up on Notion Ink official website so finally we have something to save money for. Amongst the best features are the 10.1 inch Pixel Qi display (1024 x 600 pixels), Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU and dual core ARM Cortex A9, WiFi, Bluetooth and possibly WWAN 3G HSDPA, a 3 cell battery good for 16 hours of use and 160 hours in eInk mode. An comprehensive array of sensors complete the experience: 3-Axis accelerometer, Ambient light, sensing, A-GPS.

What will have to be explained latter is the backside trackpad (I suppose is something like what’s been seen on Motorola Backflip). Storage for Notion Ink Adam will be provided by SD, eMMC cards up to 32 GB in capacity. Official weight will be around 600-650 grams which is perfect for a touch tablet. Till more official announcements go live take a look below at a short video hands on and a Flickr photostream with the latest prototype.
