We’ve covered the Dell Mini 5 tablet codenamed Streak a few times here and here. The first thing to notice is the small screen, just a tad larger than the one on a smartphone. Dell seems to like this idea that a tablet with a small screen could replace your mobile computing needs and will make you carry it around with you everywhere you go unlike a 10-12 inch tablet. I tend to agree with them on the second part, but I don’t see why I wouldn’t buy a larger screen HTC HD2 or HTC Desire over the Dell Mini 5, which both have the same screen resolution and Snapdragon CPU, but that’s another thing.

Now back to the news, let’s see what Engadget has found out about the Dell Mini 5 Streak and cared to share with us. First it seems Dell has signed a deal with Amazon who will provide a Kindle app for Mini 5 allowing users to take their eBooks on the go plus may permit access to other Amazon products like music and video directly from the device. This is really a nice idea that may extend the way you use the tablet.

Now there’s another bit of interesting info: in a leaked print flyer we’ve found that the Dell Mini 5 Streak will ship in a large collection of colors for users to choose from. We have black, blue, pink, red, yellow plus some Dell Design Studio models with a distinctive drawing on their back. I guess this will make the tablet appeal more to young people. The before mentioned flyer puts also the main hardware specs to the table: 5 inch 800 x 480 pixels capacitive touch screen, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and 30 pin dock connector. Unfortunately still no word on pricing and availability.
