We all know big companies are full of themselves and Microsoft is definitely one such example, but they are also smart when it comes to studying the competition, even if not admitting that’s happening.

Last week Microsoft announced on Facebook an event that targeted iPad users, who were invited to the Redmond campus for a two hours study where they would be asked a few things about their experience with the Apple tablet, how they use it, what are they using it for, what they like and what they don’t, you know, the kind of stuff you would pay a gold mine to know about your users before launching an entirely new kind of product.

Of course, if you’re participating Microsoft will throw in a gratuity item (they’re not telling what, but don’t expect a Windows 7 Slate). I’m curious when Apple will do the same with Windows users, to learn for their future OSes. Probably while apples grow on threes that’s not gonna happen, and for sure if it did, they wouldn’t be announcing that on Facebook.
