The source for 2012 iPad, Android and tablet PC news, reviews and accessories guides
Logitech is one of the top peripheral manufacturers with lots of high quality and innovative products that are worth your attention. It’s clear to me why they’ve decided to make a push for the tablet market by announcing a series of tablet accessories you’ll want to consider to accessorize your slate.
The official announcement took place a few days ago, when Logitech introduced their new tablet lineup consisting of keyboards, a mouse and external speakers, all wireless, since you don’t want to tie your tablet to anything and give up mobility. So let’s take a look at the latest tablet accessories from Logitech and see the main features, design and pricing:
This is an old acquaintance of ours, being produced by Logitech in collaboration with Zagg. It’s actually the Zagg iPad 2 keyboard case (reviewed here) with no apparent difference. Even the Zagg logo is featured on Logitech’s official Keyboard Case retail box. Let’s sum up the main things you should know about Logitech Keyboard Case: Bluetooth wireless connectivity, aluminum tight fit case, dedicated keys for iOS and stand functionality with portrait and landscape orientation (no angle adjustment options). Pricing will be the same as the Zagg model: $99.

Logitech Keyboard Case for iPad 2
This is what Logitech calls the best way to enjoy music on a tablet from up to 50 feet away. The stereo speakers are rechargeable and can last up to 10 hours on a single charge. Pairing is done via Bluetooth and both iPads and the iPod Touch are supported, but I believe you’ll be able to use those speakers with any Bluetooth enabled Honeycomb tablet, if not wirelessly then via the 3.5 mm audio jack input. A carrying pouch helps with the transportation of this $100 tablet multimedia accessory.

Logitech Wireless Speaker and Tablet Mouse
This is an Android only accessory that connects via Bluetooth. It supports only Android 3.1 and newer versions so you’ll have to wait till your tablet firmware gets updated to the new Honeycomb version. From a PC perspective this is a simple mouse with two buttons and a scroll wheel. A carrying pouch is included for easy transportation. You’ll have to pay $50 for Logitech’s Tablet Mouse.

This comes in two versions, one for iPad (and iPad 2) and one for Android, mainly because of the dedicated buttons that are different for those OSes. What makes this keyboard different is the carrying case that acts also as a stand for your tablet, making it easier to set up your ‘workstation’. Multimedia keys make it easier to consume media on your tablet (that’s why you bought it, remember?). You’ll have to get rid of $70 to get any of those two tablet keyboards.

Logitech Tablet Keyboard

All products will be available shortly and Logitech promises even more tablet accessories are on the pipeline. Considering Logitech had a pretty bad last quarter I understand why they push so hard to built a niche for table mices and keyboards. Hope it works for them.

Looks nice, right?
