We’ve talked a few weeks ago about the Light Touch device, a kind of portable pico projector that integrates also a small computer that computes user interactions with the projected image thus acting like a touch interface. Light Touch is developed by Light Blue Optics, which made a long demo for someone at Slashgear that explains and demonstrates how the device works in real world. Of course projected images are not that clear like in the press photos and the interface is sluggish to say the least, but this is a demo and the prototype has not reached final form yet.

The interface projected by Light Touch
From what I see this technology has a lot of potential as it might bring touch interfaces where you least expect and at a very low price point. This prototype shown in the video below projected an A3 paper size screen, but Light Blue Optics are planning on going bigger size, think 42 inch LCD TV like size. Of course, there’s no word on availability or price, but if it catches on everything changes.
Hey,
I was wondering where I could purchase one of these devices.
It is very cool!
Thank you and Happy Holidays
