LG is just one of the big names of the industry who failed to bring a tablet to market yet, after 7 months since Apple announced its iPad, despite various rumors hitting the web. Now it seems LG is awake and has big plans, very big, to overthrown the iPad with their Optimus line of tablets, based on Android and content creation, not entertainment.
And because big is nothing without a bold statement, LG’s Marketing VP announced into a Wall Street Journal article that “our tablet will be better than the iPad”. That’s something, at least from a confidence point of view. Personally I have to wait and see what LG comes up with, but they’re right on focusing the tablet on content creation (writing articles, drawing, editing etc) not just entertainment. Now it remains to be seen how bold that statement was.
