Remember the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 hybrid tablet/notebook device from CES? If not head on here to read about it. It’s an interesting concept about a device capable of being two gadgets in one: a notebook with an ULV CPU and a tablet on its own once you remove the screen and start using it as a slate type tablet. Many of you liked the concept so Lenovo thought of bringing it to production and even made an announcement on their site about the IdeaPad U1, which is coming soon! You can subscribe there to be notified once new info comes down the pipe.
Of course there’s no word on pricing but during CES time the speculated number was 1000$. Ouch, it’s a little too much for today’s economy. I know it’s expensive to make two computers into one, but not everyone is willing to pay that much more for a hybrid, especially if it doesn’t perform two times better than the iPad, but maybe that’s just me. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Ouch! $1k? Too expensive. Make it an ion or a tegra. Dirt cheap.
