CES is on starting January the 7th and already manufacturers have started to show products that makes us believe the Touch Tablet trend is going to skyrocket this year. One of those devices is the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t, essentially a netbook tablet with a capacitive screen and multitouch capabilities.

It’s not surprising to see that netbook tablets are manufacturer’s favorite when it comes to converting gadgets to tablet PCs as netbooks already have a pretty low starting price point and adding a swivel touch screen adds just a little more to that base price, making netbook tablets the best tablets when it comes to price/features ratio.

But not let’s get back to Lenovo’s Ideapad S10-3t and see what it has to offer and how it stacks up to the competition, namely the Acer 1420p, Gigabyte TouchNote T1028 and ASUS EEE PC T91 MT. As we are already in 2010 the Ideapad S10-3t will feature an Atom N470 CPU, a 10.1 inch HD screen and a roomy 320 GB Hard drive plus a 4 cell battery with an option for an 8 cell upgrade.

Lenovo tried to include some multimedia features also to the Ideapad S10-3t, including a high def screen and dolby digital sound but I wouldn’t bet it will be your machine of choice for watching movies and listening to music. Connectivity features are very good: WiFi 802.11N, Bluetooth, 3G and even WiMax. Starting price for the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t will be 459$, a little more than your average laptop but not nearly close enough to what you used to pay for a tablet a few years ago. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see more about it when CES fires up in a few days. [source]

Update: We now have a video made by Engadget that show you what the Lenovo S10-3t is capable of. First impression show the screen and screen casing is very very glossy, something that will affect viewing in bright conditions plus will make S10-3t a fingerprint magnet. On the good side it seems that the interface is pretty snappy, a thing we always worry when dealing with Atom CPUs. You can get one now for 459$ on Amazon which is a bargain considering what you’re getting.
