The source for 2012 iPad, Android and tablet PC news, reviews and accessories guides
Remember the article I’ve wrote about cheap Android tablets? It seems that KMart is also planning on releasing a cheap slate tablet powered by Android, made by Augen, which will sell for around 150$. That’s more than adequate for a 7 inch tablet slate (800 x 480 pixels resolution), an 800 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM and 2 GB internal storage, expandable through SD cards up to 16 GB in size. The Android OS version is 2.1, which is nice, considering that usually cheap tablets come with older versions. A leather carrying case is supplied by default, which is nice for a low price product.
Augen says about their 7 inch tablet it’s gonna have access to the Google Android Marketplace, so is the next Auget 10 inch slate tablet, which is something you’ll want, considering the large number of apps you can install from there (free or paid). If you like what I’ve told you, get to KMart next week, when it’s supposed that sales will start. It’s not sure yet if it will sell through their online store.
