It’s not the first time we’ve talked about the ICD Vega tablet family which will feature tablets with sizes up to 15 inch, but now we have some concrete info that ICD signed a deal with T-Mobile UK which will deliver the 15 inch version dubbed as a tablet for the family starting 2010. I pretty much like the idea of a family tablet, a device everyone in the family uses, with no secret places or hidden agendas. What this means, as T-Mobile said is that the ICD Vega tablet will run a customized version of Android 2.0 which will allows for shared calendars, Internet access and SMS/MMS messaging (useful for sending calendar reminders automatically).

Internet connectivity comes from a WiFi connection or T-Mobile installed SIM card, but I doubt you would want to use the second in your home where you almost for sure have WiFi access, but T-Mobile has to earn a living, not? The OS of the ICD Tegra will allow access to family members on sites like Facebook, MySpace and other social services plus access to Internet Radio stations and online shopping sites. FM Radio and on demand TV can also be used plus Full HD decoding capabilities (thanks to the Tegra 250 chipset) ensure you can enjoy your favorite show while cooking with your loved ones. Pricing and availability were not disclosed at this time but I expect it to ship soon in UK and then in other countries depending on Vega’s success.
