Nvidia is getting pretty serious on their mobile platform Tegra as it is working hard on improving performance and power consumption. Their Tegra T20 series chipset is already being shown in prototype form and soon to follow in ‘flesh and bones’ inside the ICD Ultra Tablet, a 7 inch model which also features the Android operating system.

ICD Ultra Tablet is glossy
A 7 inch screen means it’s light and pretty easy to hold in hand, thus improving the mobility experience you need for a tablet to use daily at your home. The Ultra Tablet is produced by ICD, an unknown company till a few days ago, but if specs and price are confirmed we might have a rapid growing name here. What really sets apart the ICD Ultra Tablet from the competition is the price: 249 $ is the projected amount you’ll have to pay to get your hands on the 7 inch version with capacitive screen (first prototypes tested were resistive).

Small enough to hold nice in hand
A low price point means a good thing: you’re not getting things you don’t need, but a simplified and complementary experience using this tablet. You’ll be able to browse online, watch media files (including HD) and even stream content to your big screen television. If you’re planning to do some work you’ll have to rely on your laptop or desktop as there’s not much place to run multitasking applications and save files in the 512MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM + 4GB of storage available for the ICD Ultra Tablet.
