Since HP acquired Palm a lot of rumors float on the web about them launching a WebOS tablet instead of the praised HP Slate, which was rumored since the start of the year but managed to get ditched into the business market. It seems that HP is not that uncertain about what it plans to do, as it announced some of its employees during a meeting yesterday that the HP WebOS tablet is coming in Q1 2011.

If I recall the enthusiasm around the WebOS operating system when Palm Pre was launched I understand why HP is trying to get their own OS to rule the market, but I also remember Apple and Android taking all the credits thanks to their very well populated Application stores, something HP doesn’t have right now. Maybe they’re working on that too…

Oh, and still no details on the hardware specs of the upcoming  HP tablet, so we’re left guessing/dreaming of a 7-10 inch screen and ARM Cortex A9 CPU. Time will tell us HP’s real plans, so stay tuned on All Touch Tablet.com.
