HP is becoming more and more active in the touch tablets field, as now announced it is working on models that will be released this year with included pico projectors. That’s at least intriguing as small pico projectors started to pop up last year as independent devices or included in cell phones and camcorders, paving the way for a new digital trend that might catch up next year at CES.

The only details we know so far is that the pico projectors will be somehow integrated in the upper part of the screen, where the webcams are placed today. I’m curious to see how will this move affect portability and design (as you don’t really want a slim device with a protuberance big enough to look ugly) but I guess pico projectors are for a special category of people, business people maybe, who need to make a presentation on the road and don’t really like traveling around with a second screen or a regular sized projector in their luggage. Also price is an interesting unknown in the integrated pico projectors equation, but we’ll find answer to those questions later this year.
