We’ve told you a few weeks ago that HP is planning a refresh for its TouchSmart TM2 convertible tablet, which will be offered with Core i3 and i5 CPUs to increase performance. Now it seems the new HP TM2 is already in stores, for a nice sub 1000$ price (950 to be precise). For this kind of money you’re getting a Core i3- 330M CPU (no low voltage), 4 GB RAM (max 8GB supported), a spacious 640 GB Hard drive, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS and the gorgeous 12 inch capacitive multi touch screen that everybody wants on a tablet.

What strikes me is the use of a normal CPU, which will bring operating temps up and battery life down, but I suppose there’s always a price to pay for performance, and the HP TM2 is not lacking in this department. For 950$ is one of the best tablet deals you get today. The only thing is that you have to wait till it’s delivered, as for now you can just preorder it.
