Remember the Hanvon BC10C and the BA10E slate tablets presented at CeBIT a few weeks ago? It seems that Hanvon made real nice progress since then and got a few samples to the press to review them, which JKKmobile did and here’s what they’ve found out about the BC10C, the model with a 1.3 GHz Celeron M ULV 743 CPU and GMA4500 graphics. If you wonder why no Atom CPU then think about performance and you have your answer. The BA10E is fitted with an Atom CPU, just like the ASUS EEE PC T101MT and it’s not a pleasant view.
The Celeron M CPU gives the BC10C a serious multimedia carriage, like 1080p playback (with a help of an additional chip I suppose) and HDMI output capabilities, smooth everyday operation in apps like Google Maps where frequent zooming is required and overall improved user experience. The downside, as there is one, is battery life, as BC10C managed just 3.5 hours of autonomy in real life scenarios, but mind you this is a pre-production unit so the final version could improve on this field, but I don’t expect wonders.

Hanvon BC10C is pretty slim for a 10 inch tablet
If you’re already set on the Hanvon BC10C wait a sec till I tell you about price: 877$, not too pocket friendly, but if it’s as good as in the video below I believe it is worth the money and maybe in the future this sum will be lowered if production ramps up in numbers. Till then take a look at JKK’s video review below:

One of the main reasons we're hearing so much about touch tablet these days is not because users are interested...
I like the hanvon products but the support is crap. Especially this guy Frank that must be the most must be the most arrogant support person I ever encountered and he can obviously not speak enough speak enough English to do the job
Bert, can you tell us how it performs? We are quite interested to know how good it is compared to other touch tablets.
Too early to say, everything works fine when it is new, but what about a bit down the track, when you loaded all your programs and “banged it around” for a while. My major disappointment is with the Hanvon support, arrogant, don’t know English very well, and just try to do the “Nigerian” on you. Pay more, buy more. I think the support is 90% of what you pay for today.
I couldn’t agree with you more. People still don’t realize that big part of Apple’s success lies in their support team.
I agree, but could I add, “and in their development team”. I think that combination is the key. If either one of those two components fail, you got a flop. I also migrating to Linux more and more as it develops, Not so much of a choice in programs – yet, but is is coming. I have also started to use portable programs a lot, and that helps the performance. The machine runs considerably better if you don’t bloat it with lots of installations that use the registry and various locations.
Unfortunately Windows OS still relies on registry, which seems one of its weak points.
hey guys i’m thinking about getting one, has it lunch yet & which site can i go to
Hi Guys,
I have one of these, been a week now and love it to bits. Blows ipad out of the water, 1080p out works a treat for a full length mkv file and still 40% battery left.
I use a nice desktop mod rainmeter.net to enhance the UI so that i have nice big buttons etc.
Meego is also very pretty linux os that boots off a live image, just bit copy to a usb and boot hanvon with it.
In all skype video chat, web surfing, remote desktop, emailing work a treat. My kindle software also looks nice on it.
As for lack of 3g – use a usb dongle or tether your mobile to it – Why would you want another expensive data plan/account when you can use your phones data – well in australia where i am data on 3g is expensive.
Hey guys, I’ve got one of these (Bc10c), and it’s great… except for a few things.
I’ve got the chinese version, so I havent got the WIFI/BT switch, 2 of the 5 buttons on the side work as power on/off and wi fi switch.
Now, what bothers me… is that I can’t play HD content. I’ve tried the .mkv files.. and nothing. It has the same specs as the european version, even windows 7 throws the same performance rating… but no HD playback. 1080 mkv file it’s all chopped up and has glitches. 720p plays with no glitches and no frame skipping, but not completely smooth.
The other two things are temperature… the thing gets damn hot when the HDD spins… and as well very noisy. I’m seriously considering replacing the hard drive with a SDD.
