Chinese people really love showbiz and that’s what the press got during the Hanvon official launch of the Hanvon TouchPad B10 slate type tablet. The Hanvon CEO smashed an ice sculpture of an Apple, which symbolizes the fact that the iPad has now a new competitor, one that plans to sell over one million units in the next months.
Seems crazy, right? Well, I have to admit that the Hanvon B10 (which we’ve previewed here when it was called BC10) looks rather nice on paper, except the price which is slated to start at 500EUR.
That price seems high but there’s plenty of things you get for this amount, so without further due, take a look at the main specs of Hanvon TouchPad B10:

Even if the Intel ULV 743 CPU is basically a Celeron model, its performance levels exceed anything you’ve ever seen on a netbook tablet (aka Atom CPU). This means fluid user interaction with the 10 inch screen, multi touch enabled that uses capacitive technology (just like the iPad). Of course don’t expect the Hanvon B10 slate tablet to be a terrific model, but from what we’ve seen it’s a tablet worth considering if you’re sick of the limitations Apple imposes on its devices, just so that it can launch a better model next year, with some (not all) of the limitations removed.

Hanvon B10 is almost the same size (and price) as the iPad
