iPad is a success, everybody knows that, now that the 1 million mark of sold units was surpassed in less than 30 days. Google has an eye on the tablet market for some time, but it didn’t made any serious move till now, when we know they’re developing an iPad killer together with Verizon Wireless. We don’t know yet who’s building the hardware, but I bet it’s HTC, as they’ve already collaborated nicely for the Nexus One smartphone and is not out of the question for HTC to start developing a slim tablet for Google.

    The other question that remains is whether the new Google Tablet will use Chrome OS or Android. Personally I believe that Chrome OS would be a better fit, if it wants to have a change of surpassing the iPad in functionality. Android already has a better market share than the iPhone in US, but tablets are a completely different thing, if you ask me. Given the fact that not much news surfaced the web, is still soon to suppose a launch date, but in the best case we’ll be able to buy an Apple tablet sometime during winter shopping season.
