As expected the idea of a cheap netbook transformed into a Tablet PC has caught manufacturer’s attention and after Acer and ASUS it’s Gigabyte’s turn to launch it’s own 10 inch netbook with a rotating touch screen, but what’s out of the ordinary here is the price: Amazon. Ouch.

What were they thinking? It’s too much, twice more than a good netbook. Wasn’t the whole idea of a netbook tablet to lower prices? Well, I guess they know better what they wand so let’s go and check the specs of the GIGABYTE TouchNote T1028:

    • 10.1″ Touch TFT-LCD WSVGA, 1366×768 with LED backlit
    • 92% full-sized keyboard
    • Embedded HSDPA Support
    • 2.5″ 9.5mm SATA HDD 5400rpm, 250 GB
    • Multi-Touch Mousepad
    • Intel® AtomTM Processor N280 1.66GHz
    • 2GB RAM (one slot you have to install yourself)
    • Windows 7 OS (doesn’t say if it’s Home Premium or Starter Edition)
    • 6 cell battery

Unfortunately for this price we would have expected at least a multitouch display, like the one on the Asus EEE PC T91MT, which is a lot cheaper by the way.
