Tablets are cool, in general, but not all types of tablets are gaining the ‘respect’ manufacturers want. Take convertible tablets for example: it’s the old Tablet PC with a twist in the sense that hardware is updated, but it’s the same concept, a very expensive one.

Despite this fact Gigabyte is giving a try to the convertible tablet with the newly announced Gigabyte M1125 model, featuring the new Intel Core i3 ULV CPU (Calpella series) in a 11.6 inch form factor. This makes the Gigabtye M1125 a very small and light portable tablet, with all the features you need to be productive on the go.

If you want to dig deeper into the Gigabyte M1125 convertible tablet let’s take a look at a short list of specs:

    • Intel Core i3 ULV CPU
    • 11.6 inch screen , HD Ready (1366 x 768 pixels)
    • optical drive (probably DVD Writer, but something really nice nonetheless considering the form factor)
    • USB 3.0 ports (so you’re in line with current trends)
    • docking station when you’re working at the office
    • full size keyboard

Probably we’ll get more info next week at Computex Taipei 2010. I’m curious if HP and Acer will update their competing models, the Touchsmart TM2 and Aspire 1825PT/PTZ. They should, as the Gigabyte M1125 looks really nice on paper.
