As you might probably already know Symbian OS went fully open source a few days ago which means everyone can download the source code and modify it. As in Android’s case this move proved successful, and the CEO of Symbian Foundation told the press he sees Symbian OS powering future tablet devices and even netbooks as many manufacturers showed interest in putting ARM architecture at work together with the already proven Symbian OS that has powered in 10 years since it launched more than 300 million devices worldwide.

    I’m curious to see it Maemo will ever get deep inside touch tablets as I got a chance to play with it a few days while i’ve tested the Nokia N900 and frankly I believe it has all the chances to become a rival for iPhone OS if tailored with a custom designed device.
