After announcing the T900 convertible tablet, Fujitsu was working hard on the smaller brother, T730 tablet, which just surfaced on FCC’s site. We don’t know yet too many specs about it (actually we know nothing beside its name) but we have a schematic with the bottom of the tablet. I know it’s not much, but it gives an idea about what we’re dealing with here.
Unfortunately it seems it’s the same square-ish design from Fujitsu which we don’t particularly like, that’s also found on the T900. Now back to specs, it seems that this will be a much smaller device than the 13.3 inches of the T900, so probably we’ll see something like 11.6 inches, a low voltage Core Capella CPU or CULV. Both have almost the same performance so maybe we’ll see better power management from the new low voltage Core CPU (if used).
Obviously a small form factor means no optical drive, but we hardly use them anymore now. If we are to guess which is the main competitor for Fujitsu T730 I would say Acer Aspire 1820PT or the new 1825PT/1825PTZ models. We’ll keep you updated, as always.
