We’ve wrote about the Fujitsu Lifebook T730 convertible tablet a few weeks ago, when it surfaced on FCC’s website, but we didn’t knew too much about it then. It’s time now to take a deeper look at it, as it just surfaced on Fujitsu’s website. As expected we have a quite powerful tablet with Core i5-520M CPU, Windows 7 Professional and 12 inch touch screen with active digitizer. All looks nice compared to the HP TouchSmart TM2, which just got upgraded to Core iX platform.

All except price, which is almost double, at 1869$ for the base version that ships with only 2GB of RAM (that’s a killer on a modern laptop). Nonetheless, you’re getting a free Lexmark X2670 All-in-One Printer with it, which partially makes up for the high price.

But let’s not dismiss it from start and take a look at the main specs of Fujitsu LifeBook T730 convertible tablet:

There are quite a few things to like about this business tablet, like the embedded security options, a must for medium and large businesses, the modular optical bay, the user cleanable dust filter, the protected hard drive, spill resistant keyboard and the ambient light sensor. The problem that still remains is the price, not at all friendly, which makes the Fujitsu T730 a convertible tablet for business use only. And despite that fact the design is not that serious, like the Lenovo Thinkpad like which every professional loves.

Oh, and the screen can be rotated both ways. That’s something clumsy people will love. Practically you have zero chance of breaking the screen hinge by forging it to rotate into he wrong direction, something I personally fear on every touch tablet I’ve tested.
