We’ve talked a bit here about the ExoPC Windows 7 slate with a custom user interface on top, we’ve even interviewed the CTO, but now news since end of May. That is till today, when ExoPC announced on its forum it will start preorders soon, on September 3rd.

    As details emerged, the first 1200 members of the forum will get the chance to preorder the device, on September 20th 120 will go to partners all over the world and even a few will reach journalists (maybe I’ll be lucky this time). On September 30th ExoPC will start preorders from developers and hopefully in Q4 we’ll get the device in US and Canada.

    Unfortunately there’s no other info I could share with you about pricing but we have at least the complete specs:

    • Windows 7 Home Premium OS
    • 11.6 inches, 1366 x 768 pixels screen
    • 2 GB RAM
    • Intel Atom Pineview-M N450 1.66 GHz with 64 bit support CPU
    • Intel GMA 3150 with BROADCOM Crystal HD 1080p chip
    • Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
    • Card reader, accelerometer, light sensor, webcam, microphone, stereo speakers
    • 950 grams weight
