We’ve talked over and over about the Dell Streak and it didn’t even officially launched in US, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know a few more things about it, like the upcoming upgrade to Android 2.1, that’s going to be here sometime at the beginning of September. Engadget is reporting that the most important part of the upgrade is the virtual onscreen keyboard that ditches that silly numeric keypad and makes room for bigger Tab, Control, Shift and ALT keys on both sides.
Live wallpaper support and third party apps compatibility is there. Other minor changes include photo and video gallery app, a redesigned phone dialer, and a new camera app. More info will be available when the updates hits the waves in September (hopefully).

I thought the 1.6 keyboard was WAY better than the one that’s coming with 2.1.
So much so, that unless someone manages to get it working on 2.1, there are quite a few of us that aren’t going to bother with the update…
