Remember we’ve told you about the Blackberry tablet, which is planned to launch sometime in 2010? Well, it seems that BoyGeniusReport has got new info on this device. It’s not much, but enough to give us an idea of what to expect from RIM. Apparently the Blackberry tablet is a 8.9 inch device, slate type, which is meant as a companion for your QWERTY smartphone (also Blackberry, in RIM’s oppinion). What companion means is that you don’t get 3G and data transfers are made through Bluetooth (via your phone) or WiFi (but this is not sure right now).
Just like the iPad, Blackberry tablet is meant for multimedia use, browsing and emails, nothing more, nothing less. I just hope it won’t be too dependant on your Blackberry, as it will ruin the appeal, just like Foleo was a disappointment for Palm fans. I guess we’ll have to wait till the end of the year and see.
