After this week’s announcement of the Blackberry BBX operating system and the introduction of the Playbook OS 2.0 developer beta I was curious to see how the Android bridge (or emulator, doesn’t matter how you call it) works with your typical Android apps.

Fortunately I come upon this seven minutes long video preview of the OS 2.0 for the Playbook tablet. It shows mainly how Android apps are running and how you can now create folders to group apps in a perfect iOS style (perfect feature copy), by dragging one app icon over another icon.

Kindle and the WordPress app are showcased in the video, and it’s interesting to see how they run without any visible lag, hiccups or the like. I’ve also noticed that each app features a footer when minimized that mentions the kind of app (Blackberry native or Android), the name of the app and a small X to close it.

If you have a Playbook and want to try the developer beta yourself all you have to do is follow the simple instruction from this page. Mind you that RIM says it’s  not recommended to install the update for your daily use, as it might compromise your data, plus it doesn’t include all the features expected from the 2.0 release like email, calendar and contacts app.
