Announcing the further delay of Blackberry Playbook OS 2.0 for mid-February didn’t made any favours to RIM, as the seriously discounted tablet (as low as $300) still isn’t selling as expected.

Certainly the end of 2011 sees some dark times for the Canadian company, who’s also facing a class action lawsuit in US over the recent Blackberry services outage that took a few days to fix. That’s why RIM hopes to shed some light on this financial quarter by starting a new business discount program for the 7 inch tablet: buy 2 and get one tablet for free. The program will go on until December 31th and applies to the US market (for now).

It’s not certain if this is a discount that applies to the already discounted price ($600 for three tablets) or to the normal 500 bucks price ($1000 total for three tablets). I suppose is the former, as it would make more sense. And while we’re at it, you’ll also get one premium accessory for free. You have to choose between a Black Leather sleeve, Charging pod or 6 feet HDMI cable.

I’ll tell you (once again) what I think of the Blackberry Playbook in one sentence: love the hardware, hate the software. Hope RIM gets its act together in the months to come, as continuing on this trend means no RIM in two-three years time from now.

All you have to do now is find two more friends that want the Playbook. Tough job, I know!
