We’ve told you just last week about RIM’s intentions to discount the Blackberry Playbook tablet and finally bring that important software update with calendar, email and contacts. No, the update is not here yet, but after Rogers started offering the 7 inch tablet to its employees at $249 for the smallest version, as of today you can get the Playbook in Canada from Best Buy and Future Shop starting at $299.
You’ll have to add the tablet to your shopping cart and then the $100 discount to the $399 list price is automatically applied to your purchase. The 32 and 64 GB models sell for $399 and $499 final price. That’s not a bad deal at all, but it might come too late to matter.
If you jump to Walmart you’ll be able to get the 16 GB Blackberry Playbook for only $249, an offer that might not be available in all stores across Canada. Now we’re waiting for the price reduction to extend to US too, as expected.

Good that they’re finally pricing this reasonably. It’d be better if they had the update to go along with it.
