I know some of you are looking forward to the ASUS EEE Pad Transformer Prime, an outstanding tablet, but there are lots of people who own the 1st gen Transformer TF101 from last year, one of the few successful Android tablets. And those consumers are waiting eagerly for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software update, promised by ASUS at CES 2012.

They said back then that the software update will follow soon after the one for the quad core Transformer Prime, but now it seems it got delayed a little bit further down the road, with mid-February being the speculated date of arrival. I know it’s not the best news, but at least Asus is keeping us all informed about the progress. Right now the update is in the Google approval queue, so we know ASUS is done with the coding.

On the other hand, the recent ASUS Transformer Prime software update, the one which is supposed to fix the GPS issues, doesn’t seem to perform as advertised. Mind you that not all of those owners who performed the update are complaining, but that doesn’t mean the problems have been fixed. Now the ball is back in Asus’ court, so expect an answer soon.
