Rumors usually evolve in frequency till an official announcement occurs, that denies or sets things straight. The same goes for the rumors about ASUS EEE slate tablet, that’s now being confirmed by the ASUS chairman as set to launch in June this year, during Computex show in Taipei. There wasn’t much of an announcement but we know that in ASUS’s vision it will be an Apple iPad killer so it means running the Tegra 2 chipset that’s capable of 1080p Full HD playback and longer battery life than other siblings powered by netbook hardware. Production will be outsourced to Pegatron, a OEM/ODM company that split from ASUS a few months ago.
